Therapy as individuation

An image that reminded me of some of Jung’s ideas about individuation. There is my ‘self’ - a smooth, grey pebble separate from all the other pebbles and grains of sand on the beach. I am part of them - this collective consciousness - and yet my task is one of self-realisation and individuation. What is my purpose and meaning? Who am I? And all the while, there is the sea: that inexorable pull of time, change and movement.
